Our stock consists entirely of books which have been donated, and we would like to thank everyone who has given them. Turnover is high, however, and we are always pleased to have donations of books, records, CD's or video's in reasonable condition. Please deliver them to the shop during opening hours if that is possible, but we appreciate that parking in the Gloucester Road is not easy, and if you are unable to deliver donations, we may be able to collect them. Please ring Simon Baylis at the shop (0117 9422969) or on his mobile (07969832439) or e-mail Books For Amnesty. , and we will see what we can do. We also now have the use of storage space in Cotham, and donations can be delivered there by prior arrangement if that is easier for you. As an alternative, we can arrange to be at the shop at 6.30 p.m. most evenings, when parking is easier, if you can deliver them then, and we can unload them for you. If you have enough books to donate to make the hire of a van an economic proposition for us, we may be able to do so. Unfortunately, a lack of storage space means that we are unable to accept donations of magazines, or, except by special arrangement, sets of encyclopedias. We can also no longer accept VHS tapes We have several means of ensuring that we get the best possible prices for rare or valuable books, by selling them on the internet, at auction etc. Please be assured that we will take every care to identify and make the best of your books. Have you thought about leaving us your library in your will, so that your books can help us in our fight for human rights after your death? Books do not always prove to be a useful legacy to leave to your family, they may find them difficult to dispose of, or may not be able to get the amount for them that the books are worth. If you would like to consider this please contact us - Amnesty International is currently offering a will-writing service in exchange for a legacy. | |||||||||||||
